Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 20: Some Actresses Pay Paparazzi for Back Shots, Others Don’t Want Them

Neha Dhupia thanked him first.

On the latest Bigg Boss 20 episode she told Salman the stand he took against paparazzi back shots was one that demanded a response. She said when he speaks, the world listens.

He answered with the other half of the story.

What He Actually Said
There are women, and some guys, who call the photographers, pay them to be there, and ask them to take the shot. “Wo bhi kya karein?” He said do it for those who want it. Don’t touch the ones who don’t. “Jinko chahiye wo karo bhai. Jinko nahi chahiye unko chuna nahi tum.”

He added that after the earlier warning the practice increased instead of stopping. Some big platforms are still running the shots. He said he will take full action.

The earlier warning, from a September Weekend Ka Vaar, named the problem more directly. Hip shots. Leg shots. The one from behind that none of the heroines like. He mentioned Saiee Manjrekar looking awkward, Neha herself having fired photographers, and his own niece walking while the cameras stayed on her back with a “Guess Who?” caption. He told the women who don’t want it to turn and slap the photographer and ask them to take the same shot of their mother or sister.

The Split He Drew
The shot from behind is the one that travels. It is the one the pages keep. It is also the one that splits the room. Some actresses are fine with it. Some are not. Salman’s line is that the photographers already know the difference because some of them are being paid to take it. The rest, he said, should stop when they are told to stop.

Neha’s thank-you sat in the middle of that split. She has already told photographers off in public. She still thanked him for saying it on a stage that reaches further than any single scolding.

The Question
The pages keep the back shot. The comments keep the argument about who asked for it.
