Wamiqa Gabbi was born into a Punjabi family in Chandigarh, India. Her father, Govardhan Gabbi, is a well-known writer who authors books in both Hindi and Punjabi. Her mother, Raj Kaushal, is a teacher who runs her own school. Gabbi completed her schooling at St. Xavier’s School in Chandigarh and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from DAV College, Chandigarh. Gabbi made her screen debut as a child artist in Imtiaz Ali’s popular Hindi film Jab We Met (2007), appearing as one of Geet’s (Kareena Kapoor) cousins.
