Neelesha Barthel is a German-Indian director and writer from Berlin. Her first cinematic steps culminated in the feature-length documentary “Bling Bling” (2001) about hip hop artists in Los Angeles. She then shot the family-separation documentary “Fifty Fifty” (2002) for “ZDF Kleines Fernsehspiel”. In 2002, Neelesha began studying directing at the film academy HFF “Konrad Wolf” Potsdam. She directed her cinema debut, the Kreuzberg culture-clash comedy “Marry Me!” (2015), as writer and director.
