Akanksha Chamola is an Indian television and OTT actress known for her supporting and lead roles in Hindi daily soaps and web series. Born on 18 January 1991 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she has Garhwali roots from Uttarakhand. She holds a postgraduate degree in Commerce and has been active in the entertainment industry since 2015.

Early Life and Education

Akanksha Chamola was born and raised in Mumbai. She completed her schooling in the city and later earned a Master of Commerce (M.Com) degree. Despite her academic background, she developed an interest in acting and modelling during her college years, which eventually led her to the television industry.

Personal Life

Akanksha Chamola married television actor Gaurav Khanna on 24 November 2016 in a ceremony held in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The couple had met during an audition and dated for a few years before marriage. There is a ten-year age difference between them (Gaurav born in 1981). In June 2026, during the premiere of Netflix’s reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa Season 2, Akanksha publicly revealed that she and Gaurav were getting divorced after living separately for approximately one year. She described the decision as mutual, stating there was “no bad blood” between them and that they continued to communicate. Differing views on the future, including parenthood, were cited as key reasons for the separation. On the show she also spoke about wanting to enjoy her personal freedom after marrying at the age of 24 and spending a decade in the relationship.

Career

Akanksha Chamola made her television debut in 2015 with the popular Colors TV show Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur, in which she played the role of Parineeta. She followed this with a significant supporting role as Anandita Subodh Bose in the comedy-horror series Bhootu (also known as Bhutu, 2016–2018).

In later years she appeared in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye (as Manvi) and the web series Dil Dhokha Aur Desire (2026) as Malini on ShemarooMe. Other credits include the mini-series Rewind Wala Love (as Monika D’souza) and appearances in projects such as Khamosh Maut. She has also been associated with micro-drama content including Dabang Policewali.

Lock Upp Season 2 (2026)

Akanksha Chamola entered the second season of the Netflix reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa in June 2026.
